This little random act was from KENZIE my daughter (14 year old) .. She made my day ..
I went into Denny's for some breakfast the other day and my server was obviously having a hard day . She seemed very out of sorts... I made it a point to smile and be so kind and interested in her feelings and tried to make my order easy and to be thankful.
I was not in the best of moods myself and I too had been a tad stressed. Never the less Denny's was on the way to the BEACH (my happy Place )
I am most me by the SEA (ya know) .. Back to Denny's ... I finished eating and my server came over to me and said I just really want to thank you for being so kind. YOU made my morning. She said I was feeling sorry for myself. Nothing right was happening in my life, Her car was repossed that morning and she had to get to her job she had a little girl .. SO she said YOU were kind and patient with you and I felt LIKE i could talk to you and say THANK YOU. I was so honored that during all she had going on that she took the time to thank me.... It just showed me once again that KINDESS is FREE >> It is the best gift and can do so much for someone. I felt just touched and blessed by her and found myself praying for her and NOW I go to that Denny's to see her and request for her and Be what kind of friend I can for her .. Just a visitor but She is my sister in Christ and I felt connected to pray for her.... SO It reminded me that even at the Gas PUMPS we never know what hard times someone is having and What a difference a smile can make... SO TUESDAY challenge... Please just make a point to get to know someone everyday ..Make a smile happen with them and TOUCH someone if even for a second. I cant tell you the impact it will have on your soul. IT has blessed me so much during this time in my life and I know it will bless YOU .. Have a beautiful week.... HUGS
Evening Sherry! My post reading tonight seems so connected for people in need! This woman was hurting and GOD obviously put you there for her that day.....she needed prayer and a kind word. GOD expects us to be a BLESSING for those around us...it is the christian way...we are to be an example and should want to help those. Karen.. Thanks sooooooooo Much for this post. I just love people and feel like I am with friends. I have already gotten to know some of the sweet friends that are following and find myself really caring and praying for them. I think that is the blessings of the blogging world. YOU get to reach new people and love new people. I am so happy to meet you and I agree Kindness is FREE and I know for me .. It just can make your day . I am on this journey to live like that and since I have opened that into my life and thought of others more than myself. THE world just seems like a better place. ReplyDeleteI know I feel GOOD in my soul on this journey !!! It does not take anything to be KIND and its like when we drink water its so good for us.. We dont always do it ..but we feel good when we have had enough .. The same for KINDNESS we feel GOOD inside and out.. WE shine for it ... : ) ... I am on a journey for KINDESS !!!!!!!!
DeleteOh and I meant to say that (got this idea from Louis Pallau) we try to say to our server, "We're going to be saying a prayer before our meal in a few minutes . . . is there anything we can pray about for YOU?" This has netted some amazing responses and almost everyone asks for prayer for something every time!
ReplyDeleteLauren .. Yes .. Can you please pray for me the right JOB.. I just opened up a shop..and want to go back to work too.... So praying that GOD places me where he wants me .. The shop is open and is only part time.. SO I want to work too . I was at my last job for ten years before I moved here. I love and miss my friends there ... SO a prayer for the JOB tha GOD wants me at would be a blessing... THanks girl . .YOU made my day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HUG HUG HUUUUUUUUGS
